As we navigate the final weeks of April, my time at the helm of Joule is quickly coming to an end. It’s remarkable how swiftly time passes, it seems like just yesterday I was writing to share my plans to step aside. To say the last nine months have flown by would be an understatement.
That said, it has been a genuine pleasure to watch this team prepare for the transition. Katelyn and Andy have stepped up in ways that prove they are ready to catapult into the next phase of their careers, while Allie, Vinson, and Daniel have continued their steady leadership, assisting clients whenever and wherever needed. Georgia has progressed beyond my wildest expectations, and I’m sure you’ll agree it’s always a treat to be greeted by her warm welcome, whether you’re walking through our doors or calling by phone. And while I never doubted him, the acceleration of Logan’s leadership, his voice, and his steady hand on the tiller, especially during such a volatile and uncertain time, has given me great peace.
Only in America can a starry-eyed entrepreneur set out to build a business with little more than enthusiasm and passion, and see it grow into a sizable enterprise serving nearly 1,000 families and stewarding around $500 million in assets. Whenever I find myself overly concerned about the challenges of the day, I’m reminded just how remarkable this nation is and the opportunity it grants each of us, every single day, to better our lives and lay the foundation for generations to come. So long as we remain a democracy where dreams can be pursued, I am confident this great nation will not only endure but thrive.
Whether you have been a client for decades or only a few months, I want to personally thank you for joining me on this journey. It was your trust that made everything possible. And to those who took a chance on a young kid from Upstate New York more than 25 years ago, I am, and will always be, eternally grateful.
I now have the great privilege of stepping aside so the next generation can lead these endeavors beyond anything I could have imagined. Our upcoming merger will solidify our presence not only in the Central Kentucky market but throughout the Ohio Valley region, and I am beyond excited to see how these combined firms will serve our clients for years and years to come.
If you’re ever curious about what I’m up to, I hope you’ll check out DIY Money, where I’ll be devoting more of my time and passion to helping those working to get out of debt or build a successful budget. Bluegrass Young Investors is our educational high school initiative dedicated to educating the next generation on the basics of financial literacy and investing. And to round it all out, I’ve accepted a position on the finance team at Southland Christian, where I’ll be investing more of my time in our local church community. While I’m stepping away from professional financial management, you can rest assured that finances will remain a central part of my daily life.
As I’ve said many times, I would never step away if I were not completely confident in their ability to care for you as I have, and to assist you in all of your financial planning and investment management needs. Whenever someone asks me for my recommendation, it will always be the folks at Joule.
The time has come to say goodbye, and I want you to know it is far harder than I ever anticipated. I wish each of you continued success, good health, and happiness. May you find your joy wherever your search takes you, and please know that these past 25 years have been among the most cherished of my life. Thank you, once again, for the privilege of serving you and your family.
With gratitude for every ‘next time’ we shared,
Quint
