Please join us in congratulating Katelyn Felker on officially earning her CFP® certification.
Katelyn serves as a Financial Advisor in our Lexington office, where she works alongside our advisory team to build, present, and maintain comprehensive financial plans. She is especially passionate about helping clients bring their full financial picture into focus and understand how all the pieces work together.
Earning the CFP® certification is an exciting milestone, not only for Katelyn, but for our entire team. It’s one of the most respected credentials in the financial planning profession, and while clients will now notice three new letters after her name, those letters represent years of hard work, education, and real-world experience.
Why the CFP® Certification Matters
Many people assume becoming a CFP® professional simply means passing a difficult exam. The exam is certainly a major hurdle, but it’s only one part of the process. Candidates must complete extensive coursework covering all aspects of financial planning, pass a comprehensive examination, meet rigorous experience requirements, and commit to the ethical standards established by CFP Board before they can earn the certification.
That matters because financial planning is rarely about solving one isolated problem. Retirement planning affects taxes. Investment decisions influence estate plans. Insurance, cash flow, charitable giving, and education planning all connect in ways that aren’t always obvious. The CFP® curriculum is built around understanding how those pieces fit together so advisors can help clients make informed decisions with confidence.
Of course, a credential by itself doesn’t define an advisor. Relationships are built on trust, communication, and genuinely caring about the people you serve. Those who know Katelyn have seen those qualities long before she earned her CFP® certification. This milestone is another reflection of her commitment to continually learning, growing, and serving clients at the highest level.
A Growing Team of CFP® Professionals
Katelyn’s accomplishment also marks an exciting milestone for our firm. With her certification, Bluespring Wealth River Valley now has 11 CFP® professionals serving clients across our offices. We’re also looking forward to celebrating additional achievements in the near future, as both Kaylie Wise and Andy Durant have successfully passed the CFP® examination and are now completing the required experience on their path to earning the CFP® certification.
Congratulations, Katelyn, on this well-earned accomplishment. We’re proud to celebrate this milestone and grateful to have you as part of the Bluespring Wealth River Valley team.
