John Ritter serves as Executive Managing Director and Lead Financial Advisor for Bluespring Wealth River Valley. With more than 30 years of industry experience, he works closely with clients to help them achieve their financial planning and investment goals while also providing strategic leadership for the firm. As Bluespring Wealth River Valley continues to grow across multiple offices and markets, John remains focused on building an organization that delivers exceptional advice, service, and long-term value to the families it serves.
John began his career at a small broker-dealer, where he gained firsthand experience in the financial planning industry and developed a clear vision for the type of firm he wanted to build. While he was drawn to the planning and investment management side of the profession, he believed clients deserved advice free from the conflicts often associated with commission-based products. That conviction led him and Jeff Daniher to co-found Ritter Daniher Financial Advisors in 1999, creating a fee-only fiduciary firm built around putting clients first.
A graduate of Xavier University with a degree in Marketing, John was also a standout member of the university’s golf team, helping lead the Musketeers to four consecutive conference championships and earning multiple All-Conference honors. He earned his CFP® designation in 2001 and remains a passionate advocate for professional standards within the industry. Today, he takes pride in helping develop the next generation of advisors and CFP® professionals across the firm.
Outside of work, John enjoys golf, travel, and spending time with family. He and his wife, Kit, have been married for more than 30 years and are proud parents of two children, Amanda and Brad, both of whom are building successful careers of their own. The Ritter family has also grown to include Amanda’s husband, Jake, and Brad’s wife, Mattie. When not traveling to new destinations or enjoying time at their favorite getaway in Kure Beach, North Carolina, John can often be found supporting Xavier athletics, volunteering with Young Life, or spending time with the family’s two rescue dogs, Roscoe and Rosie.
